This title is actually a copy of the Wii counterpart released in 2009, and the transfer to the small screen has been surprisingly successful. The formula for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is recognisable but appreciated; you're Harry Mason, who awakens after a crash to find his daughter lost within Silent Hill. This deserted place ranges from forboding creepiness to complete terror as its horrific inhabitants begin to reveal themselves, and the PSP's graphical edge does not fail us here.

Some interesting and innovative gaming features are used in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. First of all, the well discussed 'running' sequences from the Wii counterpart are carried through. These find Harry defenceless and therefore solely able to flee from his pursuers, and therefore you engage in a very terrifying interactive scene as you attempt to flee from those clawing at your heels.

Next, as players move forward through the story, the gameplay is interspersed with sections involving Harry talking about life with a psychologist. This character will ask general queries concerning life, his attitude to ladies etc. The answers you choose will actually have an impact on the numerous places you visit and the characters/enemies you face.
